"Horrible customer service"
Horrible customer service.
Horrible customer protection.
Horrible pet protection.

They practically facilitated the theft of my pet. Someone besides me initiated a transfer of ownership… when they called to verify with me I denied it! But they did it anyway.

"Petlink Sucks"
The PetLink microchip failed and I contacted them. They said for me to have my Vet contact them and they would send them a new. My Vet tried several times to get ahold of them and finally did. I asked Petlink to send me a replacement metal tag for my dog's collar and they sent me the same one with the failed microchip number. After several back and forth with PetLink (2 weeks) they blamed me and wanted me to start over and reorder the new replacement tag. I told them to go to Hell, refund my money and I ordered one off of Amazon for $10 and it came in 3 days later. I will never do business with Petlink again and I have told all of my friends to stay away from them. And to Petlink do not contact me or even respond to this feedback. I could care less what you have to say.

You even lied on your response back to me on this review. I copied and paste the last communication from you and here it is. "Please submit a new tag order with microchip number 981020051234332 if you wish to receive one.
We have no order history from you with that microchip number, and we can not generate a new order on customer's behalf.
Both your original order and the replacement order is with microchip number 981020037512803."

I never submitted another replacement order but NOW you are sending the tag with the new chip number like you were suppose to in the first place. When I get it I am going to cut it up and throw it away.

"SO THANKFUL FOR PETLINK"
In November 2022, my dachshund dog (LOLA) was left in the care of my ex-husband's niece while his mother went out of town. The niece, that Lola was left with, told us that the dog had died in her care. She would not give us the body of the dog or any pictures. We did not believe her but what could we do? In January 2023, I get a call from a lady that says that she has my dog. I was in shock and I questioned her, because to my knowledge Lola was dead. She described and I was able to confirm that it was Lola. She said an old man found her on the side of the road and turn her over to her shelter. Lola lived in Waller with my ex-mother-in-law and she ended up 70 miles away from home in Sheridan, TX. This girl is 13 years old and she survived the cold winter days of December. If I would have not had her chipped she would have never made it home. I'm so thankful for the man that found her and the lady from Lucies Pet Project.

"Truly thankful for Petlink"
Truly thankful for Petlink! Because of them animal welfare was able to contact me about my lost pup. Additionally, they emailed me to ensure I had reconnected with my pup as well. Grateful!

"terrible customer service"
Ordered a specialized collar the shipper dropped it off at the wrong address. Emailed back and forth a couple times then radio silence. Terrible customer service!!!! Boooooo

"Needed help with transfer a pet link…"
Needed help with transfer a pet link tag. I talked Sonja. She had a bad line, I told her I could not hear her and I needed help. She ignored me and just kept saying go to petlink.com

I called back and I got her again she said she was the supervisor. It was her and so unprofessional

"Easy purchase and registration."
We had our puppy spayed today and had the Petlink microchip implanted. I went into the website and set up and account and loaded my dog's information. No fuss, no muss. I did have to load the picture twice but I have an old computer so I am used to that. Our Vet charged $40 for the microchip including the implanting of it. No additional fees or charges.

Chester was in a new dog cart,but I chose a wrong tether point,and he had no collar or any tags so it was good to know he was chipped!

"Paid $45 for my microchip at my vet and couldn't register without paying another $40"
I also paid for my microchip at my vet office and your site would not allow me to register without paying a $45 fee (or $20 yearly). I saw another reviewer say you could use 24petsmart (it's actually 24petwatch) and that is what I did. The fact that I had to get annoyed and couldn't register my chip AFTER I paid and had to look through reviews to see what other people did is enough to leave a bad review. If there is a trick to registering prepaid chips, that should probably be given at the time of purchase (or even give direction on the website). I will be calling my vet in the morning to inform them of my frustrating experience as well.

"Poor customer service"
I attempted to place an order on line and it keeps declining my card. I triple checked the info I entered, checked with my card company (everything is fine) and then called Pet Link. They were no help! Said to just try another card. I asked to speak to someone who could help and was told there is no one. I will not do business with them again.

"AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS"
AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. Customer service is atrociously bad. I received a defective scanner that cost $100 and tried to get a refund but they refused and sent me another defective scanner that wont allow the battery to charge. They again refused a refund and now I have a useless scanner. My credit card refused a chargeback because Petlink insists the scanner was fine. Now I'm out $100.

"SCAM!!"
SCAM!!! (Updated) Petlink requires a $20- $25 fee above the vet fee of $45 to implant. Understand the chip is never registered, not even to the Vet who implants, without this additional $20 plus fee!!! $45 and chip implant useless without it. What a SCAM. No wonder chips on lost pets show up empty. This company should go out of business. Update: they contacted me. But I registered free through 24petsmart. AVOID petlink, #### I don’t care what they replied! Two people from their company told me I had to pay. I tried registering online which didn’t go through and a third person on the phone told me it was because I didn’t click forward to pay. Except for this complaint, they get away with it… My Vet is annoyed and won’t be using them going forward.

"Terrible website and human…"
Terrible website and human communication! Actually who even knows if Samantha is a human. I tried to transfer ownership of my new adopted pet 3 times. I was asked to provide 1 of 4 documentations that I now own the pet. I attached 2 to my email to cover my bases so to speak. I keep getting a reply I didn’t give documentation.

"Website problems, nasty employees, don't bother"
The website edit/update feature didn't work, so I engaged with Petlink Support Team over email... for 2 days and 15+ emails, and they still couldn't edit the pet for me, so I called and got JOSHUA, who was the most incredibly rude and angry and unintelligent (he didn't know what "spay" meant and so told me he couldn't change that field). He got really mad when I explained that the options were Spayed, Neutered or None, told me I had an attitude and hung up on me. And the website still doesn't work to edit, and the emails with the Support Team are fruitless and a massive waste of good rescue volunteer time. Please never use these chips, this company, and ask your vet and shelter not to use them either. Good heavens what a waste of time and money.
***** UPDATE - Emails finally resulted in the necessary edits, thank you Petlink for that, but I remain firm in my opinion to never use these chips, this company, and to ask your vets and shelters not to use them either, and especially don't bother talking to PetLink if you get the rude and angry representative JOSHUA on the phone, just hang up and call back, or send a multitude of emails until maybe someone will help you. JOSHUA seems to hate his job and has no patience for the pet owners, why is he working there? Emails were a lot of time and trouble, but finally resulted in getting the job done. But, does it have to be this hard...? Seems like it shouldn't be.

"A Lesson in Failed Customer Support"
Don't purchase a slip-on "small" cat collar tag for a minimum width collar. It will fall off, and is too large to comfortably rest against a cat's neck. But the worst part of this episode was the request for photos of the offending tag to "prove" that my assessment is factually correct, and the less than stellar timeliness of email responses. The final solution? Bend the prongs of the tag together so it won't slip off. Never mind this is a product that allegedly is intended to fit properly as long as the customer's collar width meets minimum specs. I asked for a refund or credit toward another product that includes a collar/tag combination that is functionally better. Because customer satisfaction is not a Petlink priority, that wasn't granted. It seems that once the chip is implanted, Petlink has a captive customer, forget about anything that might need extra attention.
